Job Title: Leader of the Charlotte Office
Job Overview:
The Leader of the Charlotte Office is responsible for overseeing, developing, and managing the office team. This
role includes providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to project managers, engineers, and designers
while driving the office's business growth and operational success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Business Management:
- Oversee the office’s Profit and Loss (P&L) performance.
- Drive the acquisition of new projects and business opportunities.
- Build and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction, repeat business, and attract new clients.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, key conferences, and industry events to support business
- development efforts.
- Manage office budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling of deliverables.
- Lead the preparation of fee proposals and supervise fee negotiations.
- Assist with preparing and finalizing contractual agreements.
- Conduct periodic project reviews with Project Managers to assess schedules, costs, quality, and
- profitability.
Staff Leadership and Development:
- Collaborate with Boston Department Heads to recruit, retain and develop staff for the Charlotte office.
- Conduct performance reviews for senior staff, including salary and incentive compensation
- recommendations to the upper management.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to support professional growth within the team.
- Actively participate in company meetings and collaborate with upper management and firm Principals to
- coordinate business development and optimize resource sharing.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Reports to the CEO.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with 20–25 years of experience.
- Proven business development skills and familiarity with the local Charlotte market.
- Extensive technical background in MEP consulting and engineering.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise or focus in mission-critical, healthcare, or science and technology sectors is a plus.
