The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Controller to join our client's dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial records, enhancing their accounting processes, and supporting the overall financial health of the company during a period of exciting growth. What You'll Do:
- Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
- Develop and implement efficient accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to optimize financial operations.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of business transactions.
- Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Participate in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable).
- Undertake special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a tech company or a fast-paced growth environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP) and experience with complex accounting issues.
- Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with financial reporting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
