The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the optimal functioning of all equipment, machines, and mechanical systems within the mattress manufacturing facility. The role involves troubleshooting, performing routine maintenance, and repairing various production equipment to avoid operational disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and systems in the production area, including foam cutting machines, stitching machines, assembly lines, and automated systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including fixing malfunctioning machines and replacing worn parts to maintain production flow.
- Adjust machines to ensure proper functioning, including setting up automated systems used in the production of mattresses.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and according to company policies, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations. Implement safety protocols and monitor the safe operation of equipment.
- Maintain and order parts as necessary, keeping an inventory of spare parts and tools to minimize downtime during repairs.
- Work closely with production teams to identify recurring mechanical issues and assist in improving processes and equipment performance.
- Respond quickly to any mechanical failure or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, including ensuring that new systems meet specifications and are integrated into production.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to optimize machinery efficiency, reliability, and production quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in industrial machinery maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards, including OSHA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in mattress manufacturing or similar industries.
- Technical certifications in industrial maintenance or a related field.
