Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Finyx Consulting at Consultant level as a Power BI Developer. The right candidate will have strong Power BI foundations and a consulting mindset, with a passion for data and the ability to extract meaningful insights that support better business decisions across both internal reporting and client delivery.
This role will support both internal reporting and client delivery, working with a range of stakeholders to understand requirements, shape reporting approaches and deliver reports that inform decision-making.
While Power BI reporting is the primary focus, this is a consulting role and you’ll have opportunities to broaden your capability across different disciplines.

At least 1 year of hands-on Power BI development experience

• Strong Power Query skills, including building repeatable transformations / basic ETL steps

• Experience publishing and managing content in the Power BI Service

• Exposure to the MS Power Platform (e.g. Power Automate)
Responsibilities
• Deliver Power BI solutions for internal reporting and client-facing transformation initiatives.
• Engage stakeholders to understand business problems, capture requirements and translate them into clear reporting and analytical outputs.
• Design, build, test and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring strong usability, visual clarity and insight-led storytelling.
• Develop and optimise data models and DAX to ensure accuracy, scalability and performance.
• Use Power Query to connect, cleanse, transform and standardise data from multiple sources, supporting data validation and reconciliation where required.
• Publish and manage content in the Power BI Service, supporting effective workspace practices and access control.
• Produce concise documentation and contribute to internal templates and reusable assets to improve consistency and speed of delivery.
• Collaborate with consultants, analysts and technical colleagues to align reporting outputs with wider project and transformation objectives.
• Where appropriate, produce low-fidelity wireframes and proof-of-concept dashboards and reports based on requirements to confirm direction before full build.
• Build broader consulting capability through exposure to insight framing, process understanding and structured delivery approaches.
Other Information
• We welcome candidates who can share examples of Power BI reports or dashboards they’ve built. During the interview process, you may be asked to walk us through your approach to modelling, DAX and dashboard design.
