About Hire Point Recruiting

Hire Point Recruiting is a boutique recruiting firm specializing in Accounting & Finance. We partner with companies ranging from emerging growth organizations to large public companies to identify and recruit high-caliber professionals from Analyst through CFO.

We are looking for a smart, mature, highly motivated and exceptionally detail-oriented college junior or senior to join our team as a Recruiting Operations & Research Intern.

This is not a typical administrative internship. You'll work directly with our recruiting team and Managing Partners and gain hands-on experience across recruiting, candidate research, business development, market intelligence and recruiting operations.

Attention to detail is critical in this role. You'll be working with candidate information, compensation details, interview schedules, job requirements and client data where accuracy matters. We're looking for someone who naturally double-checks their work, notices inconsistencies and takes ownership of getting the details right.

We move quickly, but we don't sacrifice accuracy.

What You'll Do

Recruiting & Candidate Research

  • Research and identify Accounting & Finance professionals for active searches
  • Assist with candidate sourcing through LinkedIn, our recruiting database and other research tools
  • Review resumes and LinkedIn profiles against position requirements
  • Research candidate backgrounds, including Big 4/public accounting experience, industry experience, career progression and relevant technical skills
  • Assist with targeted candidate outreach and recruiting campaigns
  • Support Marketable Placement Candidate (MPC) initiatives by identifying strong candidates and relevant target companies

Market & Business Development Research

  • Monitor current clients, prospects and target companies for new Accounting & Finance job openings
  • Research hiring managers, finance leaders and other relevant decision-makers
  • Assist with targeted business development campaigns
  • Research companies, industries and hiring trends
  • Support targeted outreach to Big 4 and other high-caliber Accounting & Finance professionals

Search & Job Management

  • Assist with launching new recruiting searches
  • Create clear and accurate internal job summaries from job descriptions and intake information
  • Maintain accurate information for active searches, including compensation, location, hybrid requirements, reporting structure and candidate requirements
  • Regularly audit active jobs to ensure information across our systems is accurate and up to date
  • Identify and flag missing, conflicting or outdated information
  • Help ensure job postings and internal search information accurately reflect client requirements

Scheduling & Recruiting Operations

  • Coordinate candidate interviews and scheduling with a high level of accuracy
  • Maintain accurate candidate and client information within our recruiting database
  • Track candidate submissions, interviews and overall search activity
  • Assist with weekly recruiting and business development reporting
  • Help maintain clean and accurate recruiting data
  • Identify opportunities to make our recruiting processes faster and more efficient

Who We're Looking For

We care more about how you think and work than whether you've previously worked in recruiting.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Currently a college junior or senior
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Information Systems or a related business discipline
  • Available to work onsite in our Sparta, NJ office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with a habit of checking and double-checking work
  • Able to identify inconsistencies, missing information and potential errors
  • Mature, professional and dependable
  • Highly organized and able to keep track of multiple moving pieces
  • Analytical and naturally curious
  • Technically savvy and comfortable learning new software and systems
  • Comfortable working with Excel and data
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and priorities
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assignments
  • Able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
  • Willing to ask questions and speak up when information doesn't look right
  • Interested in recruiting, business, finance, research or professional services

Preferred Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and online research
  • Basic understanding of Accounting & Finance terminology
  • Familiarity with the Big 4 or public accounting is a plus
  • Previous internship or professional office experience is a plus
  • Experience with CRM, ATS, research or data tools is a plus
  • Experience using AI tools for research and productivity is a plus

What You'll Gain

This internship provides exposure well beyond traditional recruiting coordination. You'll learn how companies hire Accounting & Finance professionals, how recruiters evaluate candidates, how an executive search firm develops new business,

and how market and candidate intelligence can be used to drive recruiting decisions.

You'll work alongside experienced recruiters and our Managing Partners while gaining exposure to a wide variety of companies, industries and Accounting & Finance career paths.

You'll be expected to take ownership of your work, ask questions, learn quickly and take on increasing responsibility as you develop.

For a high-performing intern, this position has the potential to develop into a full-time opportunity with Hire Point Recruiting following graduation. We're looking for someone who is interested in learning the business, growing with our team and potentially building a long-term career with Hire Point Recruiting.
