Position Overview:
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to support the organization’s income tax reporting, compliance, and analysis functions. This role is responsible for assisting with the preparation of tax provisions, financial statement disclosures, and federal, state, and local tax filings. The Tax Accountant will collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with applicable tax laws and accounting standards.
This position requires strong technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations.
- Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations related to tax reporting and financial statement disclosures.
- Support the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns, including estimated payments and extensions.
- Perform provision-to-return reconciliations and analyze variances.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support tax positions and accounting conclusions.
- Assist with tax-related financial reporting disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Gather and organize documentation to support internal and external tax audits.
- Conduct research and analysis on tax matters and regulatory changes.
- Support compliance activities for various business entities and related filings.
- Assist with maintaining and improving tax processes, documentation, and internal controls.
- Contribute to automation and process enhancement initiatives within the tax function.
- Participate in special projects and other tax-related initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in tax accounting, corporate tax, or public accounting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax regulations and tax compliance processes.
- Understanding of income tax provision concepts and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with tax preparation or financial reporting software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a compliance-driven environment.
- CPA, Master’s in Taxation, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
