Position Overview:
The Tax Accountant will support the company’s corporate tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This individual will assist with the preparation of tax returns, tax provisions, estimated payments, and other tax-related filings while supporting tax audits and various tax research and planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate taxation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare corporate income tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, and related filings.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related workpapers.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules and documentation.
- Assist with gathering and analyzing financial information required for tax compliance and reporting.
- Research tax laws and regulations and assist in evaluating their impact on the organization.
- Support tax audits and examinations by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
- Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assist in evaluating potential impacts on the company.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and other departments to gather information necessary for tax compliance and reporting.
- Assist with requests from external tax advisors and other third-party service providers.
- Maintain organized and accurate tax records, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline tax compliance and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required.
- 1+ years of corporate tax and/or public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with corporate income tax compliance and reporting preferred.
- Knowledge of corporate income tax concepts and regulations.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with tax compliance and research software preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Base Salary: $70k - $80k
