Collaborate with the Chief Human Resources Officer to oversee all HR functions, continuously evaluating and enhancing firm policies and procedures.
Lead recruitment, hiring, and retention programs in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring adherence to recommended employment law practices.
Determine staffing needs and maintain benchmarked staffing ratios and trends.
Provide oversight for non-exempt personnel, ensuring alignment with firm expectations.
Manage employee relations and resolve employment conflicts effectively.
Ensure firm compliance with leave of absence requests and coordinate with payroll and benefits personnel on benefit plans.
Maintain updated job descriptions for support staff and facilitate timely reviews.
Keep firm leadership informed of HR matters and assist with integration of new attorneys.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer or firm leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field, or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR certification preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within legal or professional service organizations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, and staff.
Thorough knowledge of law firm services, policies, and procedures.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant HR software.
