POSITION SUMMARY
Heritage Werks is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant to join their growing team! In this role, you will lead the strategic communications efforts for client anniversaries and heritage initiatives. As a trusted advisor, you will facilitate workshops, consult with senior leaders, and guide clients in leveraging their historical and archival content to support internal engagement and external brand storytelling.
In collaboration with the Heritage Werks Creative and Content teams, you will also develop tailored communications strategies that bring company heritage to life through digital, print, experiential, and multimedia formats. The ideal candidate is a polished communicator with strong experience in corporate or internal communications, and who is confident working with senior stakeholders and skilled at bridging the gap between brand and history.
RESPONSBILITIES
- Support and lead anniversary consulting and planning efforts, including strategic planning, client advising, and facilitating workshops with senior client stakeholders across communications, marketing, HR, and other departments, representing Heritage Werks with professionalism, confidence, and credibility.
- Advise and support clients in effectively leveraging their heritage content across internal and external communications channels in collaboration with account directors, historians and other team members.
- Develop tailored recommendations by gaining a deep understanding of each client’s internal communications landscape, including audience needs, existing channels, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with Creative and Content teams to integrate historical narratives with brand storytelling across a variety of creative executions, including exhibits, museums, videos, internal communications, and digital content.
- Effectively collaborate with historians, archivists and other subject matter experts to ensure content and storytelling recommendations reflect both the client’s historical legacy and modern brand identity.
- Craft, develop and write a wide range of communication materials for clients, including internal announcements, social media content, event flyers and collateral, and digital signage. Must be well-versed in best practices for copywriting and online community engagement.
- Support internal communications efforts at Heritage Werks by providing copywriting and information gathering for the biweekly company newsletter and other occasional internal communications needs.
- Present and pitch creative and communications strategies to clients, partnering with Client Services to develop and deliver proposals as well as guide clients through content and approach decisions throughout the duration of each project.
- Work closely with Managing Director of Creative Services, historians and account directors on account growth, including ideation for new deliverables, in alignment with Creative Department resources and capabilities.
- Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time and on budget and that personal utilization remains high.
- Stay up to date on trends in brand anniversaries and heritage activations and actively contribute to continuously improving service offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 10+ years of experience working in corporate communications or related field, preferably within a brand marketing or communications/PR agency.
- Bachelor’s in history or related liberal arts field, or in marketing, communications, or related field is required. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to assess client goals and provide recommendations and creative solutions to meet goals.
- Ability to work in coordination with cross functional teams, while leading through influence.
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and consulting with senior-level marketing, communications and other stakeholders.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across various formats.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) required, familiarity with internal social media systems such as Viva Engage and various CMS tools a plus.
- Experience developing and executing content strategies for internal and external audiences.
- Familiarity with archives, history, museums or cultural heritage is a plus.

LOCATION
- This is a remote position; however, an ideal candidate would live in the Atlanta area.
- Travel required to client sites and Heritage Werks locations.
