Our client is a Heating and Plumbing Supplies company that supplies both trade customers and the public.
Job Purpose:
To provide customer service and knowledgeable sales advice on a very busy Trade Counter. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting customers, assisting them in locating desired products, handling telephone inquiries, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organised counter area.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Provide sales support at the counter to plumbing contractors and homeowners.
· Provide management with insights on product(s) demand, and inventory cycles, as well as dealings with manufacture reps/vendors to stay informed on up-to-date industry related product knowledge.
· Candidate will take orders at the counter, by phone, or email, and ensure their orders are filled in order to provide timely and efficient order fulfilment and distribution.
· Candidate will check stock to ensure that there is always an efficient supply of materials for customers’ demand.
· Provide troubleshooting and technical support to customers at the counter, via phone and email.
· Candidate will be able to locate and pull warehouse material that customers are looking for, as well as bid/quote material costs and lead times to customers for any sized construction project.
· Advise customers regarding the products proper use. During problem escalations, act as a liaison between customers and product manufacturers’ representatives.
· Candidate will assist the company's customer base at point of sale, and direct customers to contact product manufacturers’ support information regarding any questions on installations and warranty claims.
Key Competencies & Skills
· 2+ years of plumbing industry experience, related to plumbing and heating products
· Strong understanding of plumbing industry specific product knowledge.
· Sales support to help end users select optimal products that meet or exceed expectations for the intended products usage, dimensions, as well as lead times/scheduling needs.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Experience of scheduling materials during the construction process
· Solid experience in problem analysis and resolution of product fulfilment and warranty problems.
· Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment.
· Must excel in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment where critical thinking, teamwork, and strong problem solving are required for success.

· Strong verbal communication skills
