Job Title: Trade Sales

Industry: Hardware/Construction (Workwear & PPE)

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: 8am to 5pm (some flexibility available on start and finish times)

Working Model: 5 days a week, mostly Monday to Friday, average 1 Saturday a month

Reporting to: General Manager

About the Role

This is a customer-facing, sales-driven role focused on workwear, PPE, and safety apparel. You will be the go-to specialist in-store, supporting customers with product selection, technical guidance, and tailored solutions for both individual and bulk requirements.

This role will suit someone who combines strong product knowledge in building materials (preferably with workwear knowledge) with a natural ability to build relationships and drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment. The role is a blend of retail sales, account management and new business development.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Advice

  • Deliver a high standard of service, helping customers select appropriate workwear and PPE for their specific job requirements
  • Provide clear, practical guidance on sizing, durability, compliance, and product suitability

Sales & Commercial Focus

  • Drive sales performance within the workwear category
  • Promote key product lines and seasonal ranges
  • Support overall store targets through proactive engagement and upselling

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with both walk-in customers and trade clients
  • Support business customers purchasing for teams, offering tailored recommendations and solutions

Bulk Orders & Personalisation

  • Manage team and bulk orders, including coordination of branded and personalised garments (e.g. embroidery, logos)
  • Ensure accuracy and smooth delivery of customised orders

Product Knowledge & Market Awareness

  • Stay up to date on new product ranges, safety standards, and industry developments
  • Maintain a strong understanding of PPE regulations and compliance requirements

Store Standards & Presentation

  • Maintain a well-organised, fully stocked, and visually appealing workwear section
  • Ensure merchandising reflects product quality and supports sales


Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail or trade sales, ideally within workwear, PPE, or a related category
  • Strong technical understanding of workwear, safety equipment, and their applications
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • A team player who contributes positively to the wider store
