Tactical Talent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established business to recruit a Purchasing Executive – Heating & Plumbing for a newly created, office-based role. Reporting to the Head of Heating & Plumbing, this position is ideally suited to someone from a commercial or office background who has a strong working knowledge of heating and plumbing products, suppliers, and pricing.
This role would particularly suit candidates currently working in purchasing, procurement, sales support, commercial administration, or category support within the heating and plumbing sector, who want to progress into a more commercially focused buying role.
This is a Monday to Friday, office-based position, with minimal national travel.
The Role
As Purchasing Executive – Heating & Plumbing, you will support the buying and commercial management of a broad range of heating and plumbing products. Working closely with the Head of Heating & Plumbing, you will be involved in product selection, supplier liaison, pricing support, and category analysis, contributing directly to the growth and performance of the category.
While this is not a senior leadership role, your contribution will be commercially important, and there is clear scope for development over time.
Key Responsibilities

Product & Range Support: Assist with the sourcing, selection, and ongoing management of heating and plumbing products in line with market demand and commercial strategy.

Supplier Liaison: Support supplier relationships, pricing discussions, and commercial terms in conjunction with the Head of Heating & Plumbing.

Pricing & Data Management: Maintain accurate pricing, product data, and supplier information across internal systems.

Stock & Availability Support: Work closely with internal teams to support stock availability, continuity of supply, and product performance.

Market & Competitor Awareness: Monitor competitor activity, supplier developments, and product trends within the Irish heating and plumbing market.

Category Administration & Analysis: Assist with reporting, sales analysis, supplier performance reviews, and category insights.

Promotions & Product Launches: Support promotional activity, product introductions, and supplier initiatives in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
Skills & Experience

Office-Based Commercial Experience: Experience in a purchasing, procurement, sales support, category support, or commercial office role.

Heating & Plumbing Product Knowledge: A solid working knowledge of heating and plumbing products, suppliers, and terminology is essential.

Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of pricing, margins, and supplier dynamics.

Strong Organisational Skills: Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
