Category: Gas Protection | Radon | Structural Waterproofing

Territory: National (Leinster-based preferred)

Job Type: Permanent

Working Model: Field-based / On the road

Reporting to: Commercial Director

The Client

Our client is a specialist distributor of gas protection, radon, and structural waterproofing solutions to the Irish construction market. Established and growing, they hold a strong position as one of the leading suppliers in Ireland in this space, supplying directly to contractors, developers, and the wider merchant network. This is a standalone commercial role with real scope. The business has a solid product range, a strong technical partner, and a clear appetite for growth. What they need now is someone who can take ownership and drive it.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing sales across the gas protection, radon, and structural waterproofing product range. Your primary market is direct-to-contractor and developer, which means a combination of site visits and meetings with companies like major residential and commercial developers. You will also provide support to the merchant sales team on relevant radon product lines, giving you a broad commercial footprint across both channels.

This is a national role. The bulk of the activity sits in Leinster, so candidates based in Leinster or the Midlands will have a natural geographic advantage. You will have full technical training and ongoing support through the company's technical partnership. That said, this is not a role where you will wait for doors to be opened for you. The client wants someone with a view on how to grow the business and the drive to act on it.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

•     Drive sales growth across the gas protection, radon, and structural waterproofing product range

•     Build and maintain relationships with building contractors, developers, and architects

•     Operate comfortably across both site-level visits and senior-level meetings at developer head offices

•     Identify and pursue new business opportunities and supply agreements

•     Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets

Merchant Channel Support

•     Provide sales support to the merchant sales team on relevant radon product lines

•     Develop a merchant market development plan and execute against it

Market and Product Management

Operational

•     Maintain accurate records of activity and pipeline

•     Attend product training, supplier visits, and industry events as required

•     Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality standards, and company policies

The Ideal Candidate

This role will suit someone who knows the construction industry at ground level and can operate with equal confidence on a building site and in a developer's meeting room. You will have existing relationships with building contractors, architects, or developers, and you will understand how decisions get made at each level. You are self-sufficient. You do not need a manager to create pipeline for you. You have a point of view on how to develop a territory and the commercial instinct to act on it.

You will likely have:

•     5+ years of field sales experience in construction materials, building products, or a related sector

•     Proven track record selling directly to contractors and/or developers

•     Existing relationships with architects, building contractors, or residential and commercial developers
