Tactical Talent Recruitment is recruiting a Category Buyer specializing in Sanitary Ware/Bathrooms. This is an exciting new role within the company’s buying department, offering the successful candidate the chance to shape and develop the plumbing and heating category.

The Role

As the Category Buyer for Sanitary Ware, you will take full ownership of product selection, supplier negotiations, and management of external stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in shaping the product offering across a wide range of Sanitary Ware products.

In this key position, you will work closely with the head office team to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and strong supplier relationships. You will also collaborate with suppliers to secure the best deals and identify new products and innovations that align with customer demand.

The role is mainly office-based Monday to Friday with a minimal amount of travel involved nationally. Possibility of remote working 1 day a week. 

Key Responsibilities

• Category Management: Implement a category strategy for Sanitary Ware products, focusing on maximizing profitability and market share.
• Supplier Negotiations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating the best pricing and terms to ensure competitive advantages.
• Product Selection: Identify, source, and select a wide range of Sanitary Ware products that meet customer needs while keeping up with market trends and innovations.
• Stock Management: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure optimal stock levels, availability, and distribution of products.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand trends, pricing strategies, and opportunities for category growth.
• Promotional Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities to boost sales and visibility within the category.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on category goals and objectives.

Skills & Experience

• Proven Buying Experience: Previous experience as a buyer in the Sanitary Ware category with outstanding technical knowledge.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to deliver profitable results.
• Market Knowledge: An expert understanding of the Bathrooms industry in Ireland, including trends, supplier networks, and customer demands.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to drive informed decision-making.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
• Self-Starter: A proactive and results-oriented individual who is comfortable working independently in a newly created role.
