Purpose of the Role:

 

As the Field Sales Manager for our client’s Home, Garden, and DIY business in Ireland, your primary focus will be on driving growth through new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our diverse brands and services to meet revenue targets. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will develop and execute strategic field sales plans, oversee operations, and ensure exceptional customer experiences. This role involves a blend of field-facing responsibilities and close collaboration with head office to achieve budget targets on revenue and volume.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  

·        Collaborate with field sales and merchandising teams to drive business growth.

·        Manage the business pipeline to increase field sales efficiency.

·        Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market presence.

·        Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.

·        Cultivate client relationships, provide tailored solutions, and analyse market trends.

·        Represent the company at trade shows and manage sales risks.

·        Provide detailed reporting on sales performance and KPIs.

·        Nationwide travel to meet customers and support sales improvement.

·        Foster a customer-service culture and create sales proposals.

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

The ideal candidate for this role is a dynamic Field Sales Manager/Business Development Manager, experienced in driving growth within the Home, Garden, and DIY sectors. The ideal candidate excels in optimising business pipelines, collaborating effectively with teams, and achieving sales targets. They possess strong networking skills, a proactive approach to new business opportunities, and a knack for cultivating lasting client relationships. Experienced in strategic decision-making based on market insights, they excel in managing sales risks and providing detailed performance reports. A customer-focused leader, they promote excellence and innovation while representing the company at industry events.

 

Key Competencies & Skills 

 

·        At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role as Field Sales Manager or Business Development Manager

·        Previous experience in the Home, Garden and DIY market in Ireland, with an existing network will be advantageous.

·        Strong relationship-building skills.

·        Ability to translate market insights into business strategy

·        A keen eye for spotting new opportunities in the market

·        Proven track record of working in a competitive market

·        Sales focused and driven and motivated by achieving and exceeding targets
