The Client
Our client is a long-established and well-regarded retail business operating a busy Garden Centre and Shop Gardening department. The business serves a strong domestic customer base and places a high emphasis on customer service, product knowledge, and presentation.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the day-to-day operation of the Garden Department, working closely with the Garden Department Head across both the Garden Centre and Shop Gardening areas, while delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Provide friendly, efficient customer service across the Garden Centre and Shop Gardening areas
· Assist customers with live plants, plant care, compost, lawn care, paving, fencing, and hard landscaping products
· Support daily plant care routines to ensure healthy, well-presented stock
· Process sales and returns accurately, including providing cover at retail cash desks when required
· Maintain clean, attractive, and well-merchandised garden displays
· Work with the Department Head to refresh and recreate display areas as required
· Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across gardening and outdoor ranges
· Support general customer service needs across the wider store during busy periods
· Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety at all times
Ideal Candidate
· Previous experience in retail, garden centre, or customer-facing roles
· An interest in gardening, plants, or outdoor living products
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Willingness to build product knowledge through training and hands-on experience
· Team-oriented, practical, and reliable approach
Package & Benefits
· Salary €30,000 – €32,000 DOE
· Permanent, full-time role
· Typical working hours 9:00am – 6:00pm
