Job Title: Branch Manager
Location: Dublin North

Salary: Up to circa €65,000 basic, plus a substantial performance-related bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (39 hours per week)
Working Week: Monday to Friday, with occasional participation in the Saturday roster – Start and finish times are flexible
Reporting To: Head of Sales
About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading name in the Irish builder's merchanting industry, with a well-established network of branches across the country and a strong reputation built on quality products and service. This particular branch is one of the group's key sales locations, and also serves as the central distribution hub for the wider business.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Branch Manager will take responsibility for all daily functions within the branch. This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Head of Sales and Head of Operations to develop and implement the branch business plan, and to drive revenue, sales and service performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the sales team delivers friendly, open and enthusiastic customer service, both in person and by phone
• Work with department managers and sales representatives to set and consistently meet monthly sales targets and development objectives
• Partner closely with the Head of Operations to drive the branch's operational development, ensuring excellence in health, safety and compliance
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the company's own products and services, as well as competitor offerings, to maximise sales and service opportunities
• Improve branch performance across a range of key performance measures
• Undertake customer service duties as required to ensure effective, efficient branch management
• Build a culture of continuous improvement through performance coaching and leading by example on commitment, enthusiasm and drive
• Maintain a clean, well-organised and properly merchandised store at all times
• Ensure all company policies, procedures and controls are consistently followed
• Manage general branch administration
Knowledge & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years' previous management experience
• Experience managing profit & loss accounts
• Stock holding management experience, including purchase ordering and goods in/out; central warehousing experience an advantage
• Track record of managing sales and margin targets
• An understanding of the kitchen industry, across both trade and retail, would be beneficial
• Full competence with standard software packages, including MS Word and Excel
• A third-level degree in a commercial discipline is desirable but not essential
