The Role

This is a field-based position covering Limerick and parts of North Cork and North Kerry, working closely with the Charleville branch. The role centres on developing relationships with contractors and builders in the region, growing business with existing customers and introducing new ones to the branch.

You’ll spend most of your time out meeting people on site and in yards; building trust, understanding what’s needed, and connecting those customers back into the branch team.

  • Account mix: ~30% existing accounts (nurture, grow) and ~70% new business (open doors, build pipeline).
  • Targeting: You’ll receive a defined list of key contractors/developers that the business wants to approach and develop.
  • Support: Pricing, technical data sheets, and logistics are handled by internal teams while you focus on people and relationships.
  • Hands-on touchpoints: Occasional delivery or handling a trade call is part of being visible and meeting people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and grow relationships with existing trade customers in the region.
  • Identify and approach new contractors and developers in line with the target list.
  • Plan and carry out regular site and yard visits, maintaining strong local presence.
  • Work closely with branch colleagues to ensure smooth handover of enquiries and follow-up.
  • Provide honest feedback from the field — what customers are asking for, what’s changing in the market.


The Ideal Candidate

  • A natural relationship-builder with strong interpersonal skills and genuine customer focus.
  • Previous experience in the builders’ merchant, construction, or building materials trade.
  • Comfortable developing new business and keeping existing customers close.
  • Practical and down-to-earth, happy to help out or step in where needed to get things done.
  • Organised, persistent, and self-motivated, with a professional approach to managing your patch.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and within easy reach of Charleville for regular branch engagement.


The Package

  • Basic Salary: €60,000 – €80,000 (depending on experience)
