Package: Basic €35,000 - €45,000

The Client

Our client is a leading supplier to the drainage and civils sector in the Republic of Ireland, and part of a large, publicly listed building materials group with a number of well-known merchant brands.

Drainage and civils runs as a dedicated division with its own Division Manager, an external Sales Representative and a branch sales team, backed by a central support office.

The Role

As Drainage & Civils Trade Sales Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for the division's trade customers, including a number of large key accounts. The job is to understand what each customer needs on their projects, make sure the right product goes out, and spot opportunities to grow profitable sales along the way.

You will work to sales and margin targets, liaise with suppliers, and work closely with the Division Manager and the external Sales Representative to keep the division running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Key Account Management

•     Build strong working relationships with key customers and understand their project requirements

•     Make sure the correct products are specified and supplied

•     Provide a knowledgeable, reliable service to existing trade customers

Sales & Margin

•     Identify sales opportunities and offer advice and product solutions to customers

•     Achieve and exceed sales and gross margin targets

•     Promote the division's full product and service range

Suppliers & Administration

•     Liaise with suppliers as needed on stock, pricing and product queries

•     Produce sales paperwork accurately and in line with company policy

Team & Branch

•     Support the Division Manager and colleagues to keep the division running efficiently

•     Keep a tidy, safe working environment in line with health and safety guidelines

The Ideal Candidate

This role will suit someone from a drainage and civils, builders' merchant or trade supply background who knows the product, enjoys dealing with contractors and is motivated by targets.

You will likely have:

•     Experience with a drainage and civils provider (preferred)

•     Experience managing large key accounts (preferred)

•     Good knowledge of drainage and civils products

•     A track record of hitting and exceeding sales and margin targets

•     Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and a good manner with customers

•     Good organisation and attention to detail

•     Basic computer skills, including Excel
