Summary: 

Our client, who is a leading MEP firm in Chesapeake, VA, is looking for a great Mechanical Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for diverse civil and construction projects.

This role is the perfect mix of creative design and practical project management, offering the chance to significantly impact building projects.

Key Responsibilities: 

·     Lead HVAC system design, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping sizing. 

·     Design plumbing and fire protection systems with a focus on efficiency, safety, and compliance. 

·     Utilize CAD for detailed system layouts and perform energy efficiency analyses to ensure optimal performance. 

·     Collaborate with project teams for seamless integration of mechanical designs with architectural and structural plans. 

·     Participate in construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and attending project meetings. 

·     Support project management efforts by coordinating with stakeholders and monitoring project milestones.

Qualifications: 

·     Solid experience in HVAC design and a comprehensive understanding of plumbing and fire protection systems. 

·     Proficiency in CAD and knowledge of energy analysis tools. 

·     Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. 

·     Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with independence and efficiency.
