Overview:


A well-established engineering, surveying, and planning firm is looking for a Survey Project Manager to oversee surveying projects at their Charlotte, NC office.


This role is an excellent opportunity for a professional to enhance their career in surveying and geomatics management within a dynamic firm.


Responsibilities:


  • Take responsible charge of the surveying and geomatics group, including both field crews and supporting technical staff.
  • Oversee public and private sector land improvement projects.
  • Maintain and initiate contact with key personnel and officials within client organizations.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews and technical staff, ensuring efficient scheduling and assignment of work.
  • Administer contracts, manage projects, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments to meet project deadlines.
  • Address unique or controversial surveying problems, investigating novel concepts and approaches to project execution.

 

Qualifications:


  • Professional Land Surveyor licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in surveying management, particularly in residential and commercial development.
  • Proficient with survey computations and platting using tools like Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
  • Experience with field survey equipment, particularly Trimble Survey equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and its application in surveying.
  • Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Google Earth, and various IT platforms are a plus.
  • Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving policy.
