The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer/Engineer with proven experience in HVAC design to join a premier engineering consultancy. This role involves designing and developing complex mechanical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all designs meet rigorous industry standards and specific client technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design: Develop comprehensive mechanical design drawings and documentation utilizing CAD and BIM (Revit) software.

Contribute to the production of HVAC system layouts, calculations, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit for multi‑family and other commercial projects.

Collaboration: Partner with internal project managers and multidisciplinary teams to define project scopes and deliverables.

Compliance: Ensure all mechanical designs strictly adhere to applicable building codes, industry standards, and local regulations.

Project Lifecycle Support: Participate in design reviews and coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Plumbing, Structural) to ensure system integration.

Construction Administration: Support field activities by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in on-site visits as required.

Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years of HVAC engineering design of commercial building systems within the AEC industry

Software Proficiency: Skills in AutoCAD and Revit are required.

Education: Engineering Degree Preferred

Certification: EI (Engineer Intern) or PE (Professional Engineer) license is not mandatory, but a big plus.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of mechanical building codes and industry-standard design MEP practices.

Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Geography: Must reside in or near the Central Florida area to accommodate the 2-day weekly in-office requirement.
