Project Coordinator / Technical PM | Major Aviation Infrastructure (Newark, NJ)

The Opportunity

Cruit Group has been exclusively retained by a premier AEC Technology Consultancy to staff a critical Project Coordinator / Technical PM role for a multi-billion dollar aviation redevelopment project in Newark. With the demolition of a major terminal and the construction of a new AirTrain and modern terminal facilities, our client serves as the "Technical Hub" for the entire project lifecycle.

This is not a design role—it is a high-level Technical Coordination and Data Governance position. You will sit at the center of a massive collaboration between a half-dozen consulting firms and multiple subcontractors to ensure the digital and structural integrity of the project.

The Location & Logistics

  • Site: 100% on-site, 5 days a week at the project office at Newark Airport (conveniently located near the Turnpike).
  • Commute: Reliable personal transportation is highly preferred for ease of access to the site office.
  • Urgency: The project is fully approved and we are looking for a candidate who can start ASAP.

The Mission

You are the gatekeeper of project standards. Your primary objective is to ensure that all incoming data and models from various stakeholders align perfectly with the required regional transit and aviation standards.

  • Systems Guard: Monitor all incoming data to ensure no firm is working counterproductively to another; identify and resolve technical friction points before they hit the field.
  • Coordinate Oversight: Maintain and enforce strict coordinate systems across all project models to ensure seamless integration.
  • Process Documentation: Lead and attend high-level coordination meetings to document processes and workflows (Note: You are documenting the technical path and compliance, not making design changes).
  • Standards Evolution: Create technical content and manage revisions to project-wide standards as the build progresses.

The Candidate Profile

  • Technical DNA: Mastery of Civil 3D and AutoCAD is non-negotiable. You must understand how these tools function in a heavy civil/infrastructure environment.
  • Industry Background: Must have professional experience working within an engineering firm (Special consideration for those coming from major firms like Stantec, WSP, or AECOM).
  • Sector Expertise: Direct experience with Rail, Airport, or Heavy Civil projects is strongly preferred.
  • The "Sharp" Factor: You need the professional presence to sit in a room with agency officials and lead consultants, ensuring everyone is following the same technical playbook.
  • Education: A 4-year degree is not required; an Associate’s degree combined with strong field experience is welcome.

Why This Role?

This is a high-visibility position for a technical professional who is ready to move away from pure production/drafting and into a management-track role. You will be a key player in one of the largest infrastructure landmarks in the Tri-State area.
