Our partner is a leader in custom automated machinery for over 50 years, is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Technician for its Tampa facility. They design and build one-of-a-kind machines that produce everyday products for top global brands we all know and use.
This person will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and debugging customized automated machines in a clean, state-of-the-art environment.
This is not assembly line work -- each project is unique and built collaboratively in small teams, typically over 30-90 days.

Job description:
Technician will be responsible for the building, wiring, and debugging of various types of automated machinery. The company is an Engineer to Order (ETO) company and therefore provides unique and custom machinery to meet the needs of its customers. Therefore, the machines that employees are exposed to are always unique and evolve with technological advancements. Machines are assembled starting with a bare frame then built and tested prior to shipping to customer facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble subassemblies on various types of automation machinery
- Alter parts for appropriate function and fit using various methods
- Machine shop equipment is available for all employees
- Equipment includes manual milling machines and lathes, drill presses, band saws, abrasive saws, handheld sanders, belt sanders, handheld abrasive discs, etc.
- Alter parts based on poor function determined at the time of assembly and communicate with engineering
- Run and manage cables and airlines so that schematics are followed and machine is aesthetically up to standards
- Work with engineers on ways to improve designs and functionality of machinery
- Troubleshoot machinery after all components are assembled and wired
- Assist in scheduling and tasks for assembly technicians and electromechanical technicians
Qualification Requirements
- Hands-on experience assembling custom machinery (not gas-powered or repetitive assembly line work)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read and apply schematics
- Pride in craftsmanship and problem-solving mindset
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience with automated machinery
- Robotics troubleshooting (SCARA and 6-Axis)
- Experience in using basic hand and power tools
- Machine shop experience (manual mill and lathes)
- Ability to read blueprints, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics
- Ability to read blueprints helpful but not required
- Ability to navigate a computer (CAD experience helpful but not required)
