Job Title: Legal Director of Operations

Position Overview:
The Director of Operations (DOO) will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Houston-based personal injury law firm, ensuring smooth workflow, operational efficiency, and exceptional client service. This role supports attorneys, paralegals, and staff in delivering top-tier legal representation to clients. The DOO will implement strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and help drive firm growth while maintaining compliance with Texas legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational functions, including case management, client intake, document processing, and billing, with a focus on personal injury cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the client experience.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and operational standards in compliance with Texas legal regulations.
- Supervise department managers and administrative staff; provide coaching, performance evaluations, and development plans.
- Work closely with marketing and business development teams to support client acquisition and firm growth initiatives.
- Manage budgets, track KPIs, and report operational performance to firm leadership.
- Implement technology solutions to enhance case tracking, reporting, and overall productivity.
- Monitor client service quality and address operational issues promptly to ensure positive client outcomes.
- Support long-term strategic planning and operational improvements for firm growth.
- Identify, interview and hire staff positions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5–7+ years of operations management experience, ideally in a law firm or legal services environment.
- Knowledge of personal injury law, is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing budgets, operational data analysis, and process improvements.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive client and case information with discretion.
- Knowledge of Texas legal regulations and compliance standards is highly preferred.
