This role is a key part of our sales and engineering engine. Your work will directly influence system performance, customer satisfaction, and project wins.


What You Will Do

  • Interpret construction plans, specifications, and addenda to determine HVAC system requirements
  • Select optimal equipment and build accurate pricing based on application, performance, and customer needs
  • Produce detailed cost estimates, bills of materials, and formal proposals
  • Collaborate with sales engineers, project managers, and vendor partners to verify selections and pricing
  • Use manufacturer selection software to generate performance data, submittals, and technical documentation
  • Prioritize multiple bid schedules in a fast moving environment
  • Identify value engineering strategies that enhance performance and reduce cost
  • Support post bid clarifications, scope reviews, and required revisions


What You Bring

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in HVAC estimating, applications engineering, or system design
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, RTUs, VRF, boilers, and controls
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schedules, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HVAC selection tools such as Daikin Navigator, Carrier HAP, or Trane Trace
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and organization skills


Preferred Background

  • Experience with a manufacturer rep, mechanical contractor, or design build firm
  • Familiarity with commercial construction bid processes and documentation
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and local mechanical codes
