Director of Application Engineering – Mission-Critical HVAC Systems (Chillers)

A leading North American manufacturer of advanced HVAC and cooling technologies is hiring a Director of Application Engineering to support mission-critical projects across data centers, life sciences, and high-performance buildings.

Locations: Toronto, Montréal (South Shore), or Phoenix.

Role Overview

Lead application engineering for large-tonnage chillers, CRAH units, CDUs, and AHUs. Oversee system design, equipment selection, bid documentation, and technical submittals. Partner with sales, project, and operations teams to deliver precise, profitable, on-time projects. Mentor junior engineers and help refine pre- and post-sales processes to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Building Engineering (P.Eng preferred)
• 7+ years in HVAC system design, applications, or large-equipment sales - Chiller experience is a must have
• Expertise in hydronic systems, controls, and commissioning
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
• Occasional North American travel
• (Montréal applicants) French required; English essential for collaboration
