Job Title: HVAC Controls Technician


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Controls Technician to install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC (Direct Digital Controls), and energy management systems used in commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings.


Key Responsibilities:

· Install, program, and calibrate HVAC control systems including sensors, controllers, actuators, and related components.

· Read and interpret HVAC control wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

· Troubleshoot and repair control system components and communication networks.

· Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on control systems and components.

· Interface with building automation systems (e.g., Johnson Controls, Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider Electric).

· Assist in the commissioning of HVAC systems and ensure proper functionality.

· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.

· Document service and installation activities and update system drawings as needed.

· Provide customer training and support on system operations and maintenance.


Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, electronics, or related field preferred.

· 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls, building automation, or related field.

· Familiarity with DDC systems and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.

· Ability to use hand and power tools, meters, and other diagnostic equipment.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, etc.).


Preferred Certifications (not required but beneficial):

· Niagara AX/N4 Certification
