About Us:

Our client is a fast-growing, design-forward company specializing in premium residential and commercial gate and fencing systems. Their automated gate division is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking a hands-on, visionary leader to elevate our field operations, team capabilities, and product excellence to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected company poised for exponential growth, where your impact will be visible every day.

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a builder first and foremost — someone who thrives in the field, leads by doing, and possesses unmatched mechanical, fabrication, and installation skills. The Manager of Automated Gate

Installations will lead the division’s field operations, oversee installations from inception to completion, troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, and elevate team performance, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency. You will also play a critical role in shaping systems, workflows, and offerings that reflect best-in-class craftsmanship and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Leadership & Execution

  • Lead hands-on installation and troubleshooting of all types of automated gate systems: biparting, sliding, barrier arm, vertical lift/chop gates, and hybrid/custom systems.
  • Serve as the lead builder and trainer for all field staff including foremen, helpers, and project managers.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, and timely execution of all residential and commercial installations.
  • Apply expert-level welding (MIG and Stick) and steel fabrication skills in both shop and field environments.
  • Handle construction equipment and workshop tools with expertise — including forklifts, excavation equipment, cutting and shaping tools, and more.

Technical & System Expertise

  • Possess deep familiarity with a wide variety of gate operators and access control systems — from mechanical installation to software setup and programming.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation, security, and access control issues on-site, identifying, and correcting problems with minimal delays.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of IT/networking basics and security system integration to support modern smart-gate functionality.
  • Develop solutions on the fly in unpredictable job site conditions, using logic, creativity, and years of hands-on experience.

Team & Client Management

  • Set and uphold the highest standards for communication, integrity, and customer care.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, design, fabrication, executive leadership) to deliver seamless project experiences.
  • Mentor and manage field team members to foster professional growth, accountability, and exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Serve as the face of Salem Westchester on-site, ensuring top-tier interactions with clients, vendors, and partners.

Strategic Growth & Development

  • Contribute to the design and refinement of division-level processes, safety protocols, and training standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products, workflows, and client offerings daily.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with equipment suppliers, access control providers, and automation vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on field experience with mechanical systems, welding (MIG & Stick), and steel fabrication.
  • Deep expertise in automated gate systems and access control installation and service.
  • Strong command of construction methodologies, field logistics, and equipment usage.
  • Proven experience managing field teams and project operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and team leadership skills.
  • High integrity, reliability, and passion for quality and craftsmanship.

·       Fabrication and installation experience of gates of all types and materials including steel, aluminum, wood, and AZEK. Welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel is also required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive executive compensation package.
  • Full benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off.
  • Company vehicle, tools, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Career development opportunities and a leadership seat in a high-growth company.

Who You Are:

You’re not just a technical expert — you’re a builder, a leader, and a collaborator. You’re looking for your next big chapter at a company that values craftsmanship, ownership, and growth. You believe in fixing what’s broken, mentoring others, and delivering jaw-dropping results. If you're ready to lead a team, elevate a division, and help drive a company’s future, we want to talk to you.
