Production Manager, CNC and Tooling

Buena Park, CA 90620

Comp Target: $85,000 to $120,000 base salary

You know CNC inside and out. You have led teams. You have fixed programs on the fly, improved cycle times, and walked the floor to solve real production problems.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

What You’ll Actually Be Responsible For

• Leading, scheduling, and developing a team of CNC machinists and programmers

• Being the technical point person for mills, lathes, routers, and multi-axis machines

• Reviewing and validating G-code, CAM toolpaths, and CAD/CAM files

• Improving tooling strategies, setups, and overall CNC process performance

• Managing workflow on the shop floor to consistently hit production targets

• Eliminating bottlenecks using Lean tools like 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping

• Analyzing machine data to improve utilization, cycle times, and standard work

• Ensuring every part meets specs, tolerances, and quality expectations

• Partnering with QA and Engineering to resolve non-conformances

• Using ERP/MRP systems to manage scheduling, inventory, and work orders

The Kind of Background That Will Succeed Here

• 10 plus years of hands-on CNC machining and programming experience

• 5 plus years leadership experience managing machinists and programmers

• Strong command of G-code, CAM software, and multi-axis setups

• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar controllers

• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T confidently

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure

• Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, medical device, or automotive

• Familiarity with automation, robotic loading, probing, and program optimization

Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a sit-in-the-office management role. This is a hands-on leadership position where your technical depth matters. You will influence productivity, quality, cost control, and team performance every day.

If you take pride in precision, accountability, and building strong machining teams, this could be the right next step.
