Lead Data Engineer Series A/B SaaS Scale-Up | $150-180K | Remote (US, CST/EST only) | Reports to CTO

Must-haves: Built data infrastructure from scratch at a growing SaaS company (not maintained existing systems). Lived through company transformation from startup to enterprise scale. Strong AWS data services (S3, Redshift/Athena, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue). Python for data pipelines and orchestration with Airflow/Prefect thinking but tool-agnostic. Multi-tenant database architecture at scale (hundreds of clients, complex schemas). Designed data models that support downstream BI/analytics.

What they'll own: Solo data engineering function with offshore contractor support. Architecting medallion data architecture on AWS. Building pipelines handling hundreds of client databases with hundreds of tables each. Preparing the data foundation for embedded analytics/BI integration. Direct stakeholder interface for data requirements.
