Responsibilities/Duties:
· Prepare and review federal and multi-state tax returns including 1040 (including high-net-worth & pass-through entity owners), 1065, 1120, and 1120S
· Ensure all tax filings are timely, accurate, compliant, and consistently uphold firm standards
· Identify opportunities to minimize client tax liabilities and develop strategies for implementation
· Demonstrate an ongoing proficiency of current federal and state tax legislation
· Serve at the point of contact for assigned clients on tax-related matters while establishing and developing long-term business relationships
· Work alongside accounting team members to ensure accuracy throughout the year
· Respond to IRS and state inquiries, including audits and notices
· Consult on entity selection, compensation strategies, retirement planning, and business structuring, as well as tax implications of transaction, M&A, and ownership changes
· Research complex tax issues and draft recommendations
· Review work prepared by associates to ensure quality of work, including accuracy
· Assist with developing processes and best practices for team efficiency
· Provide constructive feedback to junior team members

· Must possess excellent communication skills and exchange information with others accurately
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
· Exceptional organization with attention to detail in managing time with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines while working independently or with a team
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
· CPA or EA, required
· MST or equivalent tax-focused degree, preferred
· At least 6 years’ experience in public accounting or tax advisory role, preferred
· Demonstrated experience in reviewing 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S returns with multi-state experience, required
· Strong knowledge of pass-through entity taxation, owner compensation, basis tracking, and multi-state apportionment, required
· Well-developed skills in managing complex technical reviews, required
· UltraTax and MS Office experience, required
· Truss, Karbon, Slack experience, preferred
