Director of Accounts Payable
Salary $80-95k + bonus
Summary:
Large Financial Institution seeks hands-on, detail-oriented professional for a role focused primarily on Management of the A/P and Cash Management departments. This position supervising a large team.
The right candidate will actively contribute to daily operations while managing and mentoring our current team. The ideal candidate has worked in a lean team environment, where exposure to many aspects of business operations — Cash Management, Vendor relations, reconciling accounts, troubleshooting, and following through is the norm.
This role requires someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and is used to being a "go-to" person for many areas in the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Manage and actively participate in daily A/P operations.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
Cash Management:
- Oversee daily cash levels, deposits, wires, ACH transactions, and transfers between accounts.
- Work closely with Treasurer regarding cash balances and needs.
Accounts Receivable:
- Assist if needed with A/R functions, (billing and collections).
Accounting Support:
- Assist Corporate Accounting team as needed with information and questions for month-end and year-end close.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures over various accounting areas.
- Serve as a point person for other teams across the organization as well needed.
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE Direct experience running large A/P Department or large Accounting team, which includes A/P.
- Highly prefer bachelors degree in Business, with a strong command of basic accrual accounting principles.
- Understanding of accounting basics, such as debits and credits, accruals and intercompany transactions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- At least Intermediate Excel skills.
- Demonstrates strong follow-through and execution skills.
- Verifiable references and ability to passed detailed background check.
