Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer

The Omni Electrical Engineer assists in providing technical leadership and accountability for the MEP system in the delivery of capital and lifecycle projects and engineering services for research and development (R&D) laboratories, clinical manufacturing-related facilities, warehouses, and office buildings at client sites.


Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • The Electrical Engineer will represent clients in multidisciplinary internal/external project teams. This person will collaborate across all functional areas to ensure electrical systems comply with Good Engineering Practices (GEP) and biopharma standards.
  • Assist in developing and improving electrical engineering concepts, techniques, and standards. • Assist with the front-end scoping efforts and drive business case documents as required.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams. Assist with technical engineering projects.
  • Assist in designing, reviewing, and investigating electrical systems including lighting system and basic control systems design, submittal, and Request for Information (RFI).
  • Prepare and present project technical presentations to management.
  • Ensure project work complies with established practices, policies, and processes.
  • Represent the Technical Engineering Team at Project Reviews
  • Work closely with other functions including finance, validation, operations, labs, and facilities operations in reporting project status and adhering to established guidelines and policies.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and processes to ensure high quality of operations, and compliance with UBC, UFC, NEC codes, current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Engineering Practices (GEPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). This position is expected to be an effective communicator of ideas, project goals, and results. With minimal supervision, is expected to make presentations and updates to management.


Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience and a BS in Electrical Engineering (senior electrical engineer must have 7+ years of relevant experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Experienced working in a self-driven, performance/results-oriented, fast-paced matrix environment.
  • Able and willing to be in the field at times with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Should have some understanding of electrical switchgear, such as switchboard, panelboard, transformer, power metering, lighting system, and basic electrical control system.
  • Preferred experience with Short Circuit Coordination Study (SCCS) and Arc Flash study.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effectively communicate with peers and project teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors.
