Senior Manager, Payroll Operations – Strategic Role with Clear Path to Grow
Omaha, NE
Apply for this job

Join one of Omaha’s most notable companies in this newly created role to elevate and modernize payroll operations. This position offers a rare opportunity for an experienced Payroll or Accounting leader to step into a broader, more strategic leadership role – one that focuses on oversight, technology processes, and long-term improvement rather than day-to-day processing. Working closely with the executive leadership team, this role is ideal for a payroll expert who takes pride in building reliable systems, guiding teams, and shaping how payroll supports the organization as a whole. This position is purposefully structured to grow as the organization evolves, offering a great opportunity for someone with high potential who is looking for continued challenge and long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight of payroll and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, strong controls, and a consistent employee experience without directly processing payroll
  • Drive payroll technology and process improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, automation, integrations, and vendor optimization
  • Own governance, including policies, documentation, audits, and risk management, with a proactive approach to regulatory compliance
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the CFO, CHRO, and cross-functional leaders in Accounting, HR, Tax, Legal, and IT to align payroll operations with organizational priorities

This role provides meaningful exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape a function that touches every employee in the organization. It is well-suited for a payroll leader who values influence, problem-solving, and building sustainable operations over transactional work. You will have the space to apply your expertise, strengthen the payroll function, and grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time. Enjoy the opportunity to work alongside thoughtful, collaborative leaders who value trust, stability, and the lasting impact of work done well.
