Senior Accountant – Clear growth path to Controller - $85-95k + Bonus


Omaha-based mid-sized company inching toward “large company status” is searching for a Senior Accountant to help them become more sophisticated and automated as they move from a “strong mid-sized business” to one of Omaha’s larger companies. This corporation is looking to raise the bar both from a systems and processes standpoint, but also from an accounting and internal controls standpoint as they become larger and more complex and this is an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact and enjoy steady career growth with plans for this hire to grow into the Corporate Controller role within the next few years.


Key Responsibilities

  • Spend your first few months shadowing each department in accounting as you understand their processes and dream up ideas to improve processes….you will have the opportunity to sit with individuals in the GL team, tax, payroll, shared services and finance to evaluate their internal controls and how they leverage technology to achieve their goals
  • Inherit a strong accounting team comprised of experienced professionals who are ready to push this department to it’s potential….many of these individuals have seen the company expand by over 50% in their time and they are excited to see the company continue to succeed and win in their industry
  • Work very closely with the CFO and Controller as you will be looked to for key projects and initiatives that will help this company “raise the bar” in the accounting department


This is an excellent role for someone who does not want to get bored…there will be a plethora of things to do for years to come. Great opportunity to be mentored by a high-energy CFO who is very selectively searching for a highly promotable impact player to step into this key role. Abundant opportunities to climb into larger roles in Accounting, FP&A, Strategy or Operations. Exciting opportunity to help this evolving company align processes, systems and people, allowing them to continue to grow while also improving processes and maintaining strong controls and processes.
