THE OPPORTUNITY

A General Superintendent position with a Greater Boston general contractor, leading field operations across every project the company has under construction. The position reports to the head of operations, sits with the senior leadership group, and is the person the superintendents answer to.

THE ROLE

The field as a whole rather than one site: staffing each project with the right superintendent, setting the standard for safety, schedule and quality that every site is held to, and giving the office a reliable account of what the field can deliver and when.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Field leadership across multiple concurrent projects, from mobilization through turnover
• Assignment, development and performance of the superintendents and assistant superintendents
• One safety program and one quality standard applied company wide
• Logistics, phasing and constructability input during preconstruction and buyout
• Subcontractor field performance across the portfolio, with the project executives
• Master schedule review with each project team, and the staffing plan behind it

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fifteen or more years in the field on commercial, multifamily or institutional building work
• Several of them responsible for more than one project at a time, as a general superintendent or senior superintendent
• Superintendents developed under you who now run their own projects
• OSHA 30, and a Massachusetts construction supervisor license is an advantage

COMPENSATION

Base of $150,000 to $200,000, plus vehicle and bonus.
