BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm serving the electrical, utility and energy sector across the Northeast. We are engaged on current and upcoming Substation Project Manager searches with contractors delivering transmission programs across the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley.

THE OPPORTUNITY

These positions carry substation and switchyard packages on major transmission programs: utility-facing work, schedule-critical, combining self-performed and subcontracted scopes against a transmission owner's standards and outage calendar.

THE ROLE

You will manage substation and switchyard packages from scope through energization, and you will be the person the transmission owner holds accountable for the outcome.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver substation and switchyard packages from scope through energization and closeout
• Manage self-performed and subcontracted civil and electrical scopes
• Plan around outage windows and protect the in-service date
• Own the program schedule and maintain its integrity as requirements develop
• Manage long-lead procurement, including transformers, breakers and switchgear
• Serve as the contractor's principal point of contact with the utility's project management team

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Five or more years managing substation or transmission construction
• Substations delivered to energization under your accountability
• Fluency in a transmission owner's process, standards and documentation
• Willingness to travel across the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley

COMPENSATION

Base salary of $145,000 to $185,000.
