THE OPPORTUNITY

A Senior Superintendent position with a self-performing underground utility contractor in the New York market, on gas and electric transmission, distribution and substation work for the region's utilities. The position reports to the general superintendent and carries the field on one large program or several concurrent jobs.

THE ROLE

Direction of a large union field workforce and the foremen running it, on duct bank, manholes and splice vaults, cable pulls and the civil work around substations. Safety, production and the utility's inspection regime are yours day to day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily direction of foremen and crews across the work you hold
• Safety program ownership on high-risk utility work, with the records to show it
• Three-week look-ahead schedules and the manpower plan behind them
• Coordination with the utility's construction representatives and inspectors
• Equipment, material and subcontractor coordination with the project manager
• Field quality, as-builts and turnover documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Twelve or more years in self-performed underground utility construction, with several as superintendent or general superintendent
• Electric transmission, distribution or substation civil work for a utility owner
• Experience running a large union workforce in the New York market
• OSHA 30, and an engineering degree or equivalent field experience

COMPENSATION

Base of $160,000 to $230,000, plus vehicle and bonus.
