BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm serving the electrical, utility and energy sector across the Northeast. We are engaged on current and upcoming Commissioning Manager searches with contractors building substation, transmission and battery storage projects across New England.

THE OPPORTUNITY

These positions carry the final phase of an energy project: the point at which constructed work is tested, energized and accepted by the utility. It is the phase with the least tolerance for error, and the one on which the in-service date ultimately turns.

THE ROLE

You will own energization across substation, transmission and battery storage projects. You will develop the test program, direct the commissioning sequence, and determine when a site is ready to be placed in service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead commissioning from test plan through energization and turnover
• Direct protection and control checkout, and coordinate relay testing
• Manage integrator, vendor and utility coordination within outage windows
• Oversee startup on substation, transmission or battery energy storage projects
• Conduct the final walk before a site is placed in service
• Produce turnover documentation to the utility's standard

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Commissioning experience on high-voltage or battery energy storage systems
• A background in relay and protection, electrical construction, or a testing organization. Each route is credible.
• Direct experience through energization on projects for which you were accountable
• Willingness to travel across New England

COMPENSATION

Base salary of $145,000 to $185,000.
