BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm serving heavy civil, sitework and utility contractors across New England. We are engaged on current and upcoming estimating searches with contractors bidding public and private civil work across Massachusetts.

THE OPPORTUNITY

These positions carry the number on public civil work: MassDOT and municipal lettings, utility and sitework packages, where the margin is set at bid time and defended for the life of the job.

THE ROLE

You will price heavy civil work from advertisement through bid day, and hand off an estimate the field can build to.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Price MassDOT, municipal and authority lettings, and private sitework
• Perform quantity takeoff across earthwork, drainage, utilities and roadway
• Build production-based pricing from crew and equipment rates
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Review plans, specifications and special provisions for risk
• Manage bid day and support operations through buyout

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Three or more years estimating heavy civil, sitework or utility construction
• Command of production rates and equipment costing
• Familiarity with public bidding, prevailing wage and DOT prequalification
• The ability to defend a number in front of ownership and operations

COMPENSATION

Base salary of $120,000 to $160,000, plus bonus.
