We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help evolve and scale a modern Kubernetes-based infrastructure platform supporting mission-critical applications and engineering teams. This role is focused on platform reliability, automation, infrastructure engineering, and improving developer productivity through cloud-native technologies and DevOps best practices.
The ideal candidate has strong Kubernetes expertise, hands-on Golang development experience, and a deep understanding of distributed systems, infrastructure automation, observability, and production operations.
This is a remote-friendly role with flexible hours, provided there is overlap with Eastern Time business hours.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and improve highly available Kubernetes-based infrastructure platforms
- Partner with development, SRE, networking, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable platform solutions
- Build and enhance automation tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows
- Customize and extend open-source platform components written in Golang
- Contribute fixes, enhancements, and integrations to internally maintained platform tooling
- Support zero-downtime deployments, upgrades, and platform migrations
- Improve cluster observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities
- Automate issue detection, remediation, and operational workflows
- Assist application teams with onboarding workloads into Kubernetes environments
- Help modernize legacy applications for containerized deployment architectures
- Evaluate and test emerging platform technologies and infrastructure tooling
Required Qualifications
- Strong production experience operating Kubernetes environments
- Hands-on Golang development experience
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, APIs, control plane, and node operations
- Experience implementing GitOps workflows using tools such as Argo CD or Flux
- Experience building automation and infrastructure tooling
- Experience with Helm and Kubernetes application packaging
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
- Strong Linux systems and networking knowledge
- Experience with ingress, reverse proxies, or service networking technologies
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability using Prometheus or similar tooling
- Experience with centralized logging and operational visibility platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and production incident response skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to or modifying open-source infrastructure tooling
- Experience with Kubernetes networking and traffic management concepts
- Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure patterns and distributed systems
- Experience with highly available infrastructure deployments
- Experience with persistent storage orchestration in containerized environments
- Familiarity with cloud providers or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Experience supporting developer enablement and platform engineering initiatives
