Our client is a growing and respected insurance claims consulting firm who is looking for a Forensic CPA to join their team. This role is ideal for accounting professionals who want to transition into forensic accounting with a real-world application—helping businesses and families recover from major property losses.
About the Role
As a Forensic CPA, you’ll assess complex financial losses tied to property damage, construction delays, and business interruptions. You’ll collaborate with insurance adjusters, attorneys, engineers, and property owners to prepare investigative financial reports that withstand scrutiny.
This isn’t just number-crunching—it’s forensic storytelling based on facts, documentation, and professional judgment.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze financial statements, revenue changes, and expense patterns for Commercial Insurance Interruption claims
- Quantify construction-related losses for Builder’s Risk claims, including soft costs and delay expenses
- Review invoices, inventory records, and vendor documentation for Property Damage & Inventory claims
- Reconstruct financial records and reconcile gaps using industry data
- Present clear, defensible findings in reports used for legal or insurance resolutions
- Work alongside legal teams, consultants, and clients in a fast-paced environment
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; Forensic Accounting degree preferred
- CPA Licensure required, with 3+ years of audit or accounting experience (Big 4, regional firms, internal audit welcome)
- Exposure to financial analysis, documentation review, and client interaction
- Strong Excel and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights
- Experience with insurance, legal teams, or construction claims is a plus—but not required
