ABOUT THE ROLE

Dupe VFX is looking for creative leaders to join our core team on a permanent basis at our East London Studio. The successful artists will have empathy and passion running through their veins ready to be responsible for stewarding large shows and our small but impactful team. The role will include leadership in helping Dupe grow onto bigger and bolder projects, whilst also maintaining an excellent working environment for our team of superstars.


The  Lead Compositor plays a key role in driving the overall direction of the 2D department in the production of Visual Effects. You will be responsible for the quality control of the compositing work, ensuring that project-specific requirements are met.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpreting the creative vision of the VFX Supervisor and providing a clear, consistent, creative brief to the Leads and Artists.
  • Supporting the use of consistent department workflows and processes as well as designing more effective workflows.
  • Providing concise and constructive feedback and ensuring the Artists are directed to reach milestones & show targets.
  • Delivering the highest quality work out of dailies to the VFX Supervisor and building strategies to improve operational efficiency on an ongoing basis, such as designing more effective training, tracking progress, and reporting across all teams.
  • Approving work that is ready to progress to the next department.
  • Ensuring work is delivered according to the Show schedule.
  • Communicating with all departments to manage dependencies.
  • Explaining the work and requirements of their show to the HoDs to ensure they can provide the best possible team for the work.
  • Day-to-day oversight of the Show supervision team.
  • Resolving conflicts of workflow approach between the teams/shows.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 8 years of professional VFX experience in Commercials/Film and/or Episodic realms
  • Previous experience as a Leading 2D or Sequence Supervisor on a minimum of three high-end feature films
  • An excellent creative eye and aesthetic judgement
  • Ability to sell creative solutions and ideas to the VFX Supervisors
  • Ability to reduce complex problems to their most simple solutions
  • Thorough understanding of the complete VFX pipeline
  • Highly organised proven team leader with strong motivational skills
  • Proactive and an excellent communicator
  • Empathy and passion running through your veins
  • Salary dependent on experience
