Our client, a licensed Medicinal Cannabis cultivation company located in the Southern Zealand Region of Denmark 🇩🇰, is looking for a Cultivation Manager/Head Grower to join their team onsite in a full-time position.


They are seeking an experienced cannabis cultivation leader to join their team onsite full-time as their new Cultivation Manager/Head Grower within their GMP-compliant indoor cultivation facility .


The Cultivation Manager/Head Grower will be responsible for the cultivation of cannabis plants in all GACP areas. They are responsible for daily operations in cultivation including but not limited to propagation, vegetation, flowering, harvest and plant waste. 


They will lead and manage Production Operators assigned to their department, ensuring they adhere to the guidelines laid out by the Head of Production, QA in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documented according to GMP guidelines. The Cultivation Manager will work closely together, and coordinate with, the Production Manager.


Previous management-level experience in a legal, regulated cannabis cultivation facility following GACP is required. 


The person is expected to dedicate 100% to this position. They are required to be onsite at the facility full-time during regular business hours.


Relocation & visa support will be provided for the right candidate. 


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize production practices as directed by the Head of Production.
  • Support the Head of Production to establish and meet cultivation goals in accordance with budgets and production plans.
  • Secure optimal production measured on both potency, yield, efficient use of staff, bioburden and cost per gram as well as maintain equal quality harvest by harvest.
  • Ensure the needs of the plants are being met regarding lighting, irrigation, nutrients, pruning and plant maintenance, as well as pest & disease control.
  • Optimize use of climate control.
  • Assist in developing Production Operator schedules.
  • Review and approve the Cultivation Batch Record (CBR).
  • Review proper SOP’s related to cultivation, including but not limited to; Cloning, transplanting, pruning, watering, and harvesting.
  • Ensure that any Euphoric substances leaving the cultivation (GACP) area, do so in a manner compliant with all relevant regulations and meets all standards established by company SOPs. This includes product going to destruction and to the Processing areas (GMP).
  • Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and traceability of plants, including plant counts, both physically and in inventory tracking.  
  • Support the Head of production, to update any SOPs for cultivation processes, enforcing strict adherence throughout the facility as well as training of operators.  
  • Assist in performing an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system.  
  • Assist with calculating production/ waste yields and determining areas of improvement for each harvest.  
  • Monitor and manage the stock of cultivation supplies, equipment and inventory.  


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in legal commercial cannabis cultivation, including experience at the management level.
  • Extensive knowledge of plant biology, horticulture, and cannabis-specific growing techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and maintaining GMP and GACP protocols in a regulated facility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address cultivation challenges.
  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities to effectively manage and motivate a cultivation team.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the cannabis industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including research and development, quality control, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
