HR Director

Full-time, Onsite (Relocation offered)

Our client, a well-established, ancillary business with national operations and a strong track record of organic growth, is seeking a strategic Director of Human Resources to join their executive leadership team.


They are seeking a forward-thinking, people-first HR leader to oversee all aspects of human capital strategy and operations. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of labor law compliance in Florida and other States, with strong leadership, organizational development, and HR technology expertise.


As a key member of the executive team, the HR Director will shape company culture, support a high-performing workforce, and ensure HR practices are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business goals.


This is a full-time position, requiring onsite leadership in Jacksonville, FL. Relocation support will be offered to the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the executive team to align HR strategy with business objectives.
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and change management efforts.
  • Shape and maintain a high-performing, values-driven culture.


HR Expertise & Compliance

  • Oversee recruitment strategies to ensure a high-quality talent pipeline.
  • Own the process of onboarding and offboarding, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Initiate and manage employee disciplinary matters with fairness and legal integrity.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the Employer of Record (EOR) process and take full ownership of related responsibilities.
  • Lead performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning frameworks.
  • Design and maintain competitive, equitable compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal labor laws.
  • Identify organizational skills gaps and implement targeted development and training strategies.


Operational Execution

  • Manage HR policies, the employee handbook, and all internal HR communications.
  • Optimize and maintain HRIS systems, leveraging data for workforce insights.
  • Develop and manage HR budgets, headcount forecasts, and third-party vendor relationships.
  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and training effectiveness.
  • Administer training programs to support compliance, onboarding, leadership, and skills development.


People & Culture

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders and managers.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and lead investigations when needed.
  • Promote employee engagement through coaching, recognition, and inclusive culture initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS


Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep working knowledge of Florida & Federal labor laws and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience with HR technologies (e.g., ADP, BambooHR, Workday, etc.).
  • Strong data literacy and ability to extract and apply insights from HR metrics.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and building strong, values-aligned cultures.
  • Deep understanding of training development, facilitation, and program evaluation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
  • Experience with Paycom HRIS.
  • Previous leadership experience in a high-growth or multi-location environment.
  • Background in manufacturing, logistics, or operations-driven sectors (preferred but not required).
