National Sales Manager

Full-time, Remote with Travel

Ideally based in MB, AB or NFLD

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE IN THE CANADIAN LEGAL CANNABIS INDUSTRY (LP, Sales Agency etc).


Our client is a vertically integrated, licensed producer of premium cannabis products based in Newfoundland. They are a tight-knit company known for their innovative products, ‘all hands on deck’ attitudes, and commitment to excellence in the cannabis industry.


They are seeking an experienced and driven National Sales Manager to lead their Canadian sales initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in developing and executing sales strategies in multiple provinces, fostering key partnerships, and driving revenue growth.


The National Sales Manager will oversee sales operations across Canada, focusing on expanding market presence, managing provincial and retail relationships, and eventually leading a high-performing sales team.


MUST bring an entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on approach, and deep understanding of the cannabis sector’s retail and product landscape.


MUST be open to frequent travel throughout Canada, with a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Strategy & Development: Lead & develop a national sales strategy to achieve growth targets and expand market share across Canada.


Stakeholder Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with provincial cannabis boards, retailers, and distributors to ensure seamless collaboration and product placement.


Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new opportunities for product placement in new regions, driving regional growth across mulitple provinces.

Compliance: Navigate Canada’s complex cannabis regulatory framework to ensure all sales activities are compliant.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and production teams to align on product availability and promotional strategies.


Performance Analysis: Track and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize results and meet goals.


Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and meetings with key stakeholders to promote the brand and expand networks.


Travel Requirements


  • This role requires regular travel across Canada, with an estimated travel commitment of 50–70% of the time.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to accommodate travel demands.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of cannabis industry sales experience, with proven success in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian cannabis regulations and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a “roll up the sleeves” attitude, capable of thriving in a start-up environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
  • Willingness and availability to travel extensively across Canada is a critical component of the role.
