General Manager

Location: Jersey (Channel Islands)

Full-time, Onsite position (Relocation & Visa Offered)


Our client is a GACP and euGMP-accredited cultivator and processor of premium medicinal cannabis based in Jersey, Channel Islands. Operating a pharmaceutical-grade cultivation and processing facility, the company produces high-quality cannabis flower for regulated medical markets and is progressing through a defined phase of operational scale-up.


To support this next stage, the business is seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) with proven, on-site leadership experience in a GACP/euGMP-regulated cannabis cultivation operation to take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations and people leadership at the site.


The GM is a senior operational and people leader, accountable for the performance, compliance, and effective management of the facility and its workforce.


This is a full-time, fully onsite role. The successful candidate MUST be willing to relocate to Jersey and be present at the facility on a daily basis (relocation & visa support being provided). 


MUST have experience in a similar leadership position in a similar role within the legal medicinal cannabis industry. Knowledge of euGMP, GACP, and the UK’s cannabis regulatory framework is essential.


MUST be on-site in Jersey full-time and open to relocation for the role. Relocation & Visa support available.


Key Responsibilities


Site Operations & Execution

  • Lead all day-to-day operations across cultivation, post-harvest, processing, quality operations, maintenance, and facilities.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production in line with approved plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the senior operational decision-maker onsite.


GACP/euGMP Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with GACP, EU-GMP, and applicable Jersey and UK pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Maintain site inspection readiness and lead operational support for regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Ensure SOPs, training, and operational controls are embedded and consistently followed.


People Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Provide direct leadership and oversight of department heads, supervisors, and frontline teams.
  • Own workforce planning, shift structures, and resourcing in collaboration with HR.
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
  • Lead performance management, coaching, and development across the site.
  • Build and maintain a strong culture of compliance, professionalism, and operational discipline.


Production Planning & Scale Execution

  • Execute approved production schedules and volume targets.
  • Lead the operational delivery of capacity increases and facility expansion activities.
  • Ensure scale-up is achieved without compromising quality, compliance, or employee safety.


Operational Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor and manage key operational and people metrics, including yield, efficiency, absenteeism, training compliance, deviations, and downtime.
  • Provide structured operational reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify operational and workforce risks and implement corrective actions.


Key Competencies & Mandatory Requirements

  • Previous onsite experience as a General Manager (or equivalent) within a GACP/euGMP cannabis cultivation operation.
  • Direct leadership of multidisciplinary teams in a regulated cannabis environment.
  • Proven accountability for both operational delivery and people management.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to Jersey and work onsite full-time.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years in executive leadership within regulated sectors, preferably GACP/euGMP medicinal cannabis, agriculture, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong track record of regulatory compliance in highly controlled industries.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role in a GMP-accredited cannabis facility.


This is a full-time, onsite position, permanent position. It will require relocation to Jersey Island. Visa and relocation support are being offered to the successful candidate (if required).
