Commercial Director- Europe & UK

Location: Europe or the United Kingdom

Full-time, Remote (EU-based) with 60% Regional Travel

Our client is a U.S.-based technology company operating within the regulated cannabis and agricultural processing sectors, with proprietary equipment designed to support microbial remediation through advanced radio frequency technology.


With an established footprint across North America and growing commercial traction in Europe, the business is entering an important phase of international growth. Its patented systems are already operating within validated EU-GMP environments, with installed equipment across multiple European markets and further regional expansion underway. 


The company has developed a strong niche serving operators that require technical solutions compatible with stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. As the European market evolves, the business sees opportunity not only in regulated cannabis but also in adjacent applications where GMP, hygiene, product quality, and microbial control are commercially critical. 


This hire will play a key role in strengthening the company’s European commercial presence and converting growing market interest into long-term revenue.


About the Role


Our client is seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive regional sales growth across Europe.


Reporting to the CEO, this is a senior individual contributor role focused on building the pipeline, managing complex enterprise sales cycles, developing strategic customer relationships, and helping shape the company’s commercial strategy across the region.


The position will suit someone comfortable selling technical equipment or industrial systems into regulated environments, with the ability to move confidently between executive conversations, operational discussions, and on-site customer engagement.


The role requires a professional who can identify and prioritize the most attractive market opportunities, maintain a strong understanding of the evolving regulatory environment, and translate market intelligence into actionable sales and growth plans.


The successful candidate will combine commercial maturity, technical credibility, and strong regional awareness while operating independently within a lean, internationally growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial development across Europe & the UK, with responsibility for achieving and exceeding regional revenue targets
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline across priority European markets
  • Identify, engage, and close new business opportunities with licensed cannabis operators and processors
  • Manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, including executive leadership, technical teams, quality leaders, and facility operators
  • Maintain a strong working awareness of regulatory developments, GMP expectations, and evolving compliance frameworks that may influence customer priorities, market access, and adoption timing across Europe
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive intelligence across Europe & the UK, while tracking relevant global industry developments that may inform regional strategy, commercial positioning, and product-market fit
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings across Europe & the UK
  • Act as a trusted commercial ambassador for the company across the region
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and provide regular pipeline forecasting and sales reporting
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and regulatory shifts relevant to the European cannabis sector
  • Work closely with leadership on strategic account development and market-entry priorities


Required Skills & Experience

  • Must be an EU or UK citizen or already hold independent legal authorization to live and work within Europe or the UK.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive sales experience within technical, industrial, capital equipment, or complex B2B sales environments
  • Proven success selling products with longer sales cycles and multiple decision-makers
  • Demonstrated experience selling into regulated environments where quality, compliance, validation, or GMP-related requirements influence the buying decision. item 
  • Experience managing enterprise-level customer relationships
  • Strong commercial track record with evidence of revenue delivery
  • Experience developing new markets, opening strategic accounts, and driving growth in emerging or underpenetrated regions 
  • Fluent English required
  • Additional European language(s) capability strongly valued
  • High level of written and verbal communication
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence in external-facing commercial environments
  • Willingness to travel extensively (60%+) across Europe & the UK


Preferred Background

  • Experience selling technical equipment into regulated sectors such as pharmaceutical, food processing, medical device, laboratory systems, or cannabis
  • Familiarity with radio frequency, microwave, thermal processing, or adjacent technical systems is highly advantageous
  • Heavy equipment, industrial systems, or complex machinery sales experience is highly valued; a scientific or technical background is considered an advantage.
  • Existing network within the European cannabis, pharmaceutical cultivation, or controlled environment agriculture sectors an advantage.
  • Working familiarity with GACP, GMP, EU-GMP, HACCP, ISO, sanitation, validation, or other regulated quality-system environments strongly preferred
  • Exposure to U.S.-headquartered businesses or international reporting structures is beneficial

Salary & Compensation: The target salary range for this role is €100,000–€120,000 annually, plus bonus, vacation, and additional incentives, commensurate with experience.
