Position: Construction Accountant

Location: Ft. Worth, In-Office

Collaborate closely with operations managers, deciphering variances, and fine-tuning strategies for optimal performance. As the backbone of our financial operations, you'll ensure accuracy, compliance, and profitability, all while thriving in a fast-paced environment.


What You'll Do:


- Responsible for accounting operations for all construction projects

- Prepare and submit invoices according to contract value and specifications that meet client standards for approval and prompt payment.

- Monitor accounts receivables and collections and manage project cash flow

- Analyze financial data to uncover discrepancies and account for any unexpected variances

-Assist Controller in month-end closing process

- Prepare financial statements for analytical review by stakeholders and decision makers

- Post month end accruals for revenue and expense based on percentage of completion accounting

- Manage fixed asset records, tracking changes and ensuring accuracy- Collaborate with Project Managers and field staff to provide support and training.

- Address challenges with problem-solving skills and financial expertise.

-Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in the construction industry

-Maintain work in progress schedule for all open projects

- Identify areas for efficiency and implement process improvements in accounting operations

- Take on exciting special projects, finding creative solutions to new challenges.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5 years Minimum experience with progressive accounting responsibilities
  • 2 years Minimum experience in construction/job cost accounting
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting practices
  • Proficiency in project accounting software

Advanced MS Excel a plus
